Alberta Wildfire
OVERVIEW
Alberta Sustainable Resource Development Wildfire Program (ASRD) is organized into ten forest areas, and the program’s headquarters and Provincial Coordination Centre are located in Edmonton.
The forest areas are as follows:
High Level Forest Area
Fort McMurray Forest Area
Lac La Biche Forest Area
Slave Lake Forest Area
Peace River Forest Area
Whitecourt Forest Area
Grand Prairie Forest Area
Edson Forest Area
Rocky Mountain House Forest Area
Calgary Forest Area
Boots on the Ground is approximately 850 people, Helitack is 4 or 8-person crews, Unit crews are 20-person, and Firetack are contracted crews for sustained action.
