Past and Present

Bringing Canada’s wildland firefighters together.

For years, we’ve looked to the US wildfire community for insights and connection. Despite calls for a similar platform in Canada, none existed—until now. This site was created to build and connect the Canadian wildfire community.

About

After 15+ years in wildland fire, working with three organizations and consulting for two others, I noticed something missing: a place for Canada’s wildfire community to truly connect at a grassroots level.

Sure, formal organizations provide research and webinars, but let’s be honest—sometimes the best insights come from casual chats around the "proverbial campfire," where stories, lessons, and perspectives are shared.

The problem? There hasn’t been a space outside of a traditional organization for those meaningful exchanges to happen.
