Prince Edward Island Wildfire


OVERVIEW

Prince Edward Island’s wildfire program is under the Forest, Fish and Wildlife Division. There is no official wildfire program as found in other jurisdictions. Wildfire response is conducted on behalf of their full-time staff within this division who have received fire training as part of their full-time roles (i.e., “foresters, forest technicians, wildlife technicians and others who have fire as part of their duties".)

Boots on the Ground in addition to full-time staff with fire suppression as part of their role, the program is further supported by one of the many volunteer fire departments across the island.
