General Update
FAIRBANKS REGION
The Fairbanks region is facing significant wildfire threats, leading to evacuations and road closures. The Himalaya Road Fire is showing moderate activity, including torching and spotting, and poses a direct threat to homes. Meanwhile, the Aggie Creek Fire, though less active, is displaying creeping and smouldering behaviour. There’s still the potential to endanger residences and has caused road closures. Both fires highlight the ongoing risks in the area.
SOUTHWEST REGION
The region is experiencing several fires, most of which remain minimally active but still pose potential risks to nearby communities. Fires like the Oskawalik and Pilot Creek are being monitored closely due to their proximity to residences. They are currently showing moderate activity. Other fires, such as the Meadow Creek and Susulatna Fires, are showing minimal behaviour with no significant updates at this time. Authorities continue to track any changes in fire conditions.
GALENA AND UPPER YUKON ZONES
Wildfires in this zone continue to pose threats to habitats and structures, with varying levels of activity. The Roundabout Complex near Huslia shows moderate activity, but recent rain has helped suppression efforts. The Ptarmigan Complex near Central has minimal fire behaviour, although nearby residences remain at risk.
TOX AREA
The Tok region is experiencing ongoing wildfire threats, endangering homes and critical infrastructure. The Seven Mile Lookout Fire, located southwest of Tok, has prompted evacuations, despite minimal fire behaviour. Meanwhile, the Kechumstuk Creek Fire northeast of Tok shows moderate activity, with updates provided only for significant changes.
