Today’s Overview

Nationally, we’ve been bumped up to Prep Level 3 given the fire activity in the prairies, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, as well as in Ontario.

Overall estimated human caused starts is still leading the charge, with Unknown closely behind.

From a year to date view, we have more starts this year than last; however total hectares burned are far less than reported this time last year.

Moving into the May long weekend (Victoria Day), and starting to see various levels of prevention being applied across the country.
