Today’s Overview

There’s no way around this one today….this SitRep Sucks!!!

Unbelievable in fact. Like literally I had to go back and check the numbers as I couldn’t believe them myself.

Since yesterday’s numbers, and we’re talking total hectares burned crossed over 20 million. To give everyone some perspective the total number of hectares burned in 2023 was only 14 million for the entire season. Yup, pulled those numbers from an old SitRep from September 15, 2023. 14 million in what we all thought was the craziest season to date, and then we met 2025.

We are literally way past the 2023 numbers and only about one-third of the way through this fire season.

Staggering - mind boggling, is an understatement.

Despite my inability to fathom what’s going on, let’s keep our focus on the frontline staff, the agencies working tirelessly to support them, and to all those evacuated. Thank you one and all, and please look out for each other. Clearly, this season is far from over.
